How do I submit a nomination?
Nomination Process
Nominating someone for a prestigious Shannex Excellence Award can be done by an individual or group, and can involve words of support from others (e.g. residents, family members). If you have any questions about the nomination process, please email awards@shannex.com.
Step 1: Create an Account
When you click "Submit a Nomination", you will be asked to sign in or create an account (takes less than one minute). In response to feedback from previous years, we've added this feature so nominators can come back to their in-progress nomination, add or change information, and upload supporting images or documents prior to the deadline.
Step 2: Select an Award Category
- Review the categories and select an award for which you would like to make a nomination.
- If you would like to nominate someone for more than one award, you must submit separate nominations as judging occurs within each award category.
- You can nominate as many Great People for awards as you'd like.
Step 3: Complete your Submission
- Using the online platform, you will provide general information on the nominee(s) including their name, site/community/location and position/role.
- It is the responsibility of the nominator to complete all sections/questions within the form.
- Each question is worth a percentage of the total score, so leaving one or more fields empty will impact the likelihood of being selected.
- Nominations will be judged solely on the information provided, and nominations that contain multiple unanswered questions will not be considered.
- Due to this year's new award system, you can come back to your nomination at any time to add, change or upload information that will support your submission.
Eligibility
Although most awards are open to all Shannex employees, a number are targeted to specific roles or community partners. In addition, employees whose role and function are wholly dedicated to improving a specific area* (i.e. The Health, Safety and Wellness Team to champion Health, Safety and Wellness) are not eligible to receive that specific award.
- Each year, our judges have the difficult task of selecting recipients knowing every nomination has merit. If you submitted a nomination in the past (or if an employee was previously nominated) but they were not selected for an award, they are still eligible. Consider re-submitting that nomination again with updated and/or additional information.
- Award nominations can be made by any Shannex team member (full-time, part-time, casual).
- Self-nominations are not permitted.
- Most awards are open to all Shannex employees, though a number are targeted to specific roles and/or community partners.
- Employees whose role and function are entirely dedicated to a specific area are not eligible to receive that specific award (e.g. the person leading the Health, Wellness and Safety team cannot be nominated for the Safety Award), but can be nominated for a different award (e.g. Service Excellence).
